Orlando, Florida- March 5th-7th

On the weekend of March 5th-7th, I drove to Orlando for the first convention of 2004, MegaCon! I went with my friend Eve, who stayed with me and we cosplayed together. Here are all the pictures I took at the convention- most of them are pictures of cosplayers, since that's my favorite aspect of any convention. ^_^ Enjoy!

This is a picture of me in my Rociel(Angel Sanctuary) costume, which I wore on Saturday. ^_^ The wings were a bit lopsided, but at least this way you can actually see them.

This is a picture of my favorite person in the world, Jason-kun! ^_^ On Saturday, he dressed as Miyavi(the Jrocker). Yes, he does kinda look like a large red disco ball. ^^;;

MegaCon, although being an anime convention, is also partially a comic convention. There were a lot of Marvel/DC/Capcom cosplayers around(too bad I didn't get very good pictures of them). Very often, you'd see people dressed as Storm Troopers hanging around. Jason, being the mischevious little minx he is, decided it'd be fun to try and grope one of them. :D Here's the result.

This was the very first picture I took of other cosplayers(besides myself and Jason-kun) on Saturday. It's Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon!

I stalked this girl for a good half of the convention. I had just seen Yami no Matsuei(courtesy of Eve, she gave it to me) and I recognized her costume as Muraki. I am now convinced that Muraki is more maddeningly twisted than Rociel from Angel Sanctuary and Akio from Utena combined. And heeeeell, that's saying a lot. o_O

This guys' costume was brilliant, I was very excited to see this costume, because it turned out very well. He even had the blue paint all over his chest! He's dressed as Faust from Shaman King.

A group cosplay of Excel, IlPalazzo, and a giant Menchi from Excel Saga. ^_^ Yes, IlPalazzo is pointing his gun at her head. ^^;;

This girl is awesome. She dressed as Mad Hatter from Angel Sanctuary, and did a damn good job on it, too. I hung out with her for a good half of the Con. ^_^

I hung out with these two girls for a considerable amount of time at the Con. They're dressed as Tsuzuki and Muraki from Yami no Matsuei.

This guy dressed as Hatake Kakashi from Naruto. Let us all collectively just stare at his kickass eye. (Yes, he even had the scar and contact for the Sharingan. It was so cool. o.o)

These girls are awesome. They dressed as KOS-MOS, Shion, and MOMO from Xenosaga. Their costumes rawked.

I really liked these girls' costumes. They cosplayed as Utena Tenjou and Anthy Himemiya from Shoujo Kakumei Utena. (Yes, I specifically asked them to pose like that.)

I had to chase this girl down to get a picture. She's dressed as Mai from Yu-Gi-Oh!

Since I recently just got into Naruto, I was quite happy to finally see a Haku cosplayer! She even had sharp needle thingys in her hand. :D

*sobbing in happiness* As a Rociel cosplayer, it is a godsend to find corresponding characters to such an obscure series. And apparently, someone up there likes me, because I found a Katan cosplayer. :) It's a picture of the two of us.

This was a very nifty costume. It's Kagura from InuYasha!

Finally, a picture of Eve in her costume! She wore the same costume that she wore for Jacon 2003; Pudding(Battle Outfit) from Tokyo Mew Mew.

I apologize if this picture is too blurry, but my digital camera is getting kinda beat-up nowadays. ~_~;; At any rate, this is a picture of my buddy Erin, dressed as Shego(sp?) from Kim Possible.

This is a pic of another buddy of mine, Melissa, who dressed as Mr. K from Gravitation(schoolgirl-outfit style!) Warning: Obscene gesture inside. Heehee.

On Sunday, Eve and I cosplayed as corresponding characters- Saint Tail and Seira Mimori from Kaitou Saint Tail. This is a picture of Eve in her costume.

Out of all the FLCL cosplayers I expected to see, these were the only ones. But they did an awesome job on them, so I'm happy. ^_^

If you're a Floridian Con-goer, you might recognize this woman. Her name is Meredith, and she's been at almost every convention I've been two in the past year or so. She's also on Radio Sci-Fi in Orlando- if you live in that area, listen to it sometime! (I can't, since I live in Palm Beach.)

These next few pictures require some odd sort of explanation. Apparently, Kakashi(Naruto) is now a priest and has taken the opportunity to marry off Sakura(also Naruto) and Rock Lee(ditto). I was dragged into the ceremony since I was dressed as a nun and they wanted my "blessing." (I just took a piece of scrap paper, tore it into little pieces, and tossed it into the air, yelling, "Mazel Tov!") Kakashi is reading from his own "personal bible."

Since wedding ceremonies are oh so much fun, I found Muraki and Tsuzuki(YnM) and brought them to Priest Kakashi so that he(she) could perform the first gay marriage in Florida. Yes, Tsuzuki is on a leash. He was forced into it. Best line:
Kakashi: "Is there anyone who objects to this union?"
Tsuzuki: "I DO! I DO! I DO!!!"
Muraki: "*claps hand over Tsuzuki's mouth and smiles sweetly* No objections, priest."

Muraki is now a blushing bride. Awwwww. (Well, he was the one wearing white!)

Muraki stole my nun hood and now I must resist the urge to sing, "Like a Virgin."

Well, that's all of the pictures I took for MegaCon 2004. I had a fantastic time, and I made a bunch of new friends. The next convention I plan on going to will be Anime Express 2004, in Daytona, Florida. If you're going, look for me!
